I haven't but I'm interested in the outcome. Let us know how it goes with engineering

Did the roll bar get defected or just the seat? Seems ridiculous that a CAMS approved safety roll bar can be defected in an open top car!

Cmon Travy - tell the rest of the story - what prompted them to pull you over and even look at those items?

More seriously, I too would like to understand why a BD bar is unroadworthy/unsafe? No padding perhaps?

It has to be certified that it is mounted properly that it has padding fitted and it doesn't obstruct other vehicle saftey measures

same applys with seats if you didn't have to get it engineered people would tech screw a roll bar in and milk crates on the floor pan would be the norm!

with anything though common sense prevails
if its fitted neatly and properly no one will hae a problem

was pulled over for no front number plate. yes both the seat and the roll bar need to be engineered to be legal. Anything after market in theory needs to be engineered. My roll bar had a forward bar from above drivers head to passenger floor but when i argued about the rear half he said that also requires engineering.

I think he was just a jealous hater hehehehe

ah well life goes on........ill put plate on, remove front half of cage and get the windows tinted :)
