Good car dustcover for NB MX-5?

Postby PASHN8 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 9:24 am

Hi guys,

I posted this a little while back but can't seem to find the thread? Most importantly, a good forum member on here PM'd me the details of a company in the SE suburbs of Melbourne that does fitted car cover for less than $150 but I can't find the thread or PM :(

Now that the MX has been detailed I want to get a car cover on it so it doesn't collect too must dust whilst i'm not driving it.

Cheers,
Dino.

Hi Dino,

I am interested in the outcome of your car cover purchase because I will be after one as well. $150 for a custom made seems pretty cheap.

I think Dino may be starting a Group Buy. I'm interested as well.

The post was Feb 4 under General chat. I had a cover made and am very pleased with the quality and fit. The lady- Nola Gibson will measure your vehicle - my car is a NB P2 ( 2001) The fit is really optimum and you can leave the top or down with the cover on. She will have a pattern for my car. I did send photo's to Okibi but Nola will also have photo's. The little business is in Narre Warren her number is 03 9703 2604 and it is known as Historic car covers. Her e mail address is carcover@tpg.com.au.
The cover is made and measured for your vehicle so you have to wait a few weeks but worth the wait and it is a local business.

I will see if she will do a discount for a few MX's and post back.

Ok, had a chat with Nola today, very nice lady and very helpful! Basically she is unavailable for the next 3-4 weeks finishing other orders, but will take orders again in the new year.

She said she can't really do any group discounts as they are individually cut and made by hand, but she will do an MX-5 cover for $150 pick-up which I am happy with.

I will update when she lets me know she is ready to take on more orders as I will getting one from her then.

$150 is fine by me. Keep us to speed on progress and when we can place an order.

So get this..

I told Nola that I would definitely like a cover, but was not in a hurry and to just let me know in a few weeks when she had finished the cover, that was Friday last week.

I get a VM today from her, telling me she did some work over the weekend and my cover is complete and ready for pick-up!

Now THAT is good old fashioned service! Will pick-up and post some pics of it on and let you all know the fit and finish.

Looking forward to seeing it.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

this is the same maker as used by Pashn8- he may care to comment. I find the cover excellent. Extra ties can be specified to tie to wheels etc.
