Figured I should post up a thread on my car..

Got it in April @121k km. Annoyingly the very night i got the car someone slashed one of my tyres

Was looking at a set of Eagle F1's which would have set me back just over a grand, then i saw someone had a set of these for sale, so...

Just had to replace a wheel bearing and the alternator which were a couple of fun little expenses... :frown:

That looks sweet! I normally hate those rims in the standard silver colour but powdercoated they look really good

teins will make it look badass!

aircon will be there in 1-2 weeks, just need to remove the A/C radiator still, i'll do it this weekend i promise :lol:

well thats not true but u get the idea

as a mini update:
The wheels have Sumo Firenza ST03's on em, cheap japanese tyres and they are pretty awful in the wet. That, coupled with an alignment to Charlie Brown's spirited driving specs which make the car oversteer quite a bit in low speed corners makes it a fun ride when it rains!

That looks fantastic with the new wheels. I agree that those wheels aren't my favorite when silver, but black they look awesome!

I'm thinking that maybe you should get some blacked out indicators and reflectors. There are a few resonably cost effective options if you don't want to do it yourself.

cost effective? im listening..

im more for spending money towards performance.. aesthetics are very much a 2nd priority for me

look around at an automotive store called "night shades" costs about $15-20 a can, you would only need 1 can to do your reflectors and indicators, about 2 coats each and they will come up mint.

Thanks guys! I'll look into that soon, for now my radiators top tank has some stress/crack marks so im going to have to replace it before it blows

Found an SE one (twice as thick as standard) thats only seen 40,000km's.. fun little expense.. anyone got any ideas on what it'll cost to have mine ripped out and this one installed? Or is it extremely easy to the point that I could do it myself?

I'm always keen to try things on my own if their easy, I am very mechanically retarded though so if its alotta effort / the labour cost is cheap enough id rather leave it to a professional

I did a radiator change a few months ago, If its anything like changing one in a NA it's really easy. There is a pretty good guide on miata.net. Otherwise find a workshop manual.

And yes, its quite impressive what you can fit in an mx5. Do you know the seat has only 4 bolts. 2 minutes and you have a huge "boot"

Seeming how its exam week, I am very busy procrastinating studying.. just before going for a drive decided to take a pic of Bensale's great idea of putting a P plate on the back of the passenger seat, double sided tape didnt stick properly first, was flapping around but i slapped it down a few times n eventually.. it stuck good

Did my first oil change ever. engine, g'box and diff oils. Car feels great with nice clean oil (was filthy black and low beforehand. going to start changing it every 3-5k KMs) + much smoother shifts with redline mt90 in the 'box.

then decided to give clay barring a try. car sure is shiny.. in the shade
