From what I understand of the NSW system its the equivelant of a greenslip.

On our rego we pay a $366 TAC fee which covers liabilities in the case of injury IIRC. There is also an additional $36.60 insurance duty. The actual registration fee is only $172.80

yakob wrote:Hey, unfortunately the 5 has been in a little bit of an accident. Wet conditions, bad front tires and newtons law of motion.

According to my mech, ive busted the stabiliser rod, k frames bent, and possibly another significant fram underneath the engine. As he is still chasing up parts, and not a mazda enthusiest, i was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem with bent k frame, and what it would cost to replace, and best place to get it (new/second hand)?? Thankyou, and incase uwere wondering, i went through a roundabout in the wet, front wheels lost traction in the wet as i turned, car skidded forward over the gutter at 50-60 k's.

When will you all learn to stop being such cocks to new members, especially someone who is so enthusiastic about our favourite car. re: insurance. IIRC it is not compulsory to have 3rd party property insurance. That is, other people's property.

It is however, compulsory to have third party insurance. That is, cover for personal injury up to $20 mil. I think that is covered with vehicle registration.

anyway, i think stu, andrew or something should lock this thread. Lets say this discussion has become a little heated.

The people that have been giving Yakob a hard time should be made to apologise for calling him unjustified names first. I thought MX5 fans had a lot more going for them than this, this is going to remain with me for a long time. You're a pack of arseholes!

fattima wrote:Just to add to the chorus GET INSURANCE!

I was hit by an uninsured driver a few years back. My partner works for a large law firm, the guy who hit our car had a very uncomfortable time getting hounded by solicitors till he paid. You could end up been in debt for a very long time to pay for someones repairs.

On the plus side good to hear your car is fixed.

I don't see what was so insulting about my remarks and yes I would say it to your face. I mentioned insurance out of concern because I would hate to see a forum member end up in the strife I saw the bloke I mentioned go through. If you think I'm an "arrogant arsehole" for making my comment, well so be it.

but hats why you have insurance. Why would you have to employ lawyers to get the money out of him. Your insurance should have done this for you. Right?

insurance companies aren't really buggered to chase up the other party.

fattima used his partner to solicit the money because the services were probably free :P

and yakob, the PM you sent me said something to the effect of: "if only your parents had waited a few more months ... [re getting you an NB8B, you wouldn't have to chase up the NB8B wheels].."

what part of that says that you paid for everything yourself? unless you're reneging on the pm you sent me.....
i can't brain today.. i have the dumb..
