Adam I haven't had any issues with resolution on my MSPNP, and it has been tuned to pass emissions (which I would suspect would require a decent resolution)...

I Sill Have A Autronic SMC with P&P Harness to Suit a (94 Clubman. I got over 140 KW on 10 Psi with Stock Injectors and Fuel pump. (this was the limit )
Currently run 610CC Pizieo INJ in the race car (they have a better resilution, IE smaller pening time )
Make over 230 KW with a walbro in tank Pump

I should have transferred the American guy from rd.com the money to build me the Megasquirt when the dollar was near parity :(

Russell, was the Walbro a straight fit?

Had no issues at all with that at 160rwkw.
I have to say that I am not a fan of 5th injector setups. If you can afford/justify the extra expense a stand alone ecu will give you much better results. I may have my EMS dualsport for sale soon with a loom to suit a 1.8. Happy to leave the map in it.

Walbro GSS342 is the pump you want, it is bolt in (ish) but you will need to make a spacer about 2mm (big washer works) at the bottom of the furl pump hanger. The filter that came with my walbro was correct and the kit included the quietening rubber sheath too.

As for the inejctors, the RX7 ones are DEFINATELY DIFFERENT spray pattern. I've seen them bench tested again EVO and MX5 and GTX/GTR inejctors and they shoot a much more direct line of fuel rather than a misted spray like the piston car ones spray. I think/know you'll find the internals are different, although the pintle caps may be similar - I'm not sure and certainly not an expert, however the shop that tuned my MX5 are world renowned for thier rotary expertise and have tuned cars for rotary record holders including J Padilla, so I'll take thier word and what I saw on thier injector cleaning rig...

I ran EVO injectors 460cc and a walbro pump with the stock reg and made my own dual feed rail - No problems at all.

When I turned the boost down to 14psi I wanted it to look stock in there so went to the standard rail and familia GTX injectors (370cc I think) and had no problems at all, made about 250hp on that setup with plenty of room to move.

Why didnt I think of Familia GTX injectors................

I know that we know that the manifolds etc from the Familia don't fit the MX5 block, but what about all the sensors? Theres a difference with CAS/Distributors that I remember, but is it just location on the block or do they run a different system? Would it be possible to run a BP with a turbo kit (manifolds etc) with a Familia ecu?

Familia injectors are perfect for a mid range set-up, can genreally be found for $100-$150 for a fully cleaned/reco'd set.

As for the ECU, pretty much no - Too much effort, you'd need to run the rear of block dizzy wich is basically impossible, you'd also need to swap AFM and all the other sensors, big job for little benefit.

Kind of suspected that, was just hoping it wouldnt be the case. I still can't believe that no-one has worked out how to retune a stock B6/BP ecu, they can do it with RB30 / 20, CA18, SR20 ecus).

Thinking about it though, the PerfectPower piggyback that AVO sell with their kits makes me slightly nervous because I doubt that whoever I get to tune my car would have seen one before. However, if AVO find that that piggyback is fine to run their kits, then I should have no problems using another more common piggyback like a SAFC neo or something... Tuners know them and they definitely work, my cousin's Aristo is making 300rwkw on a stock pump and injectors with a SAFC.

It ma not be able to trigger the fifth injector that the kit comes with, but if I swap to Familia injectors, then it should be fine I would think? I'm not after big power, I just want to get the kit on without blowing my bank account, and I could always go to full aftermarket management a while down the road

I don't know anything about the AVO piggyback kit with the 5th injector, but generally a 5th injector kit is just a crude way of pumping more fuel in.

I've seen some that are basically a pressure switch and vairable resistor, once the switch senses a set pressure the injector opens a set amount, the more pressure, the longer the open cycle of the injector. Crude but effective. Many of these systems make no adjustment for timing or other variables, but like I said, I cannot confirm if the AVO kit is quite this basic.

I helpeda friedn try to set-up familia injecotrs on stock ECU, but all wen ended up with was an overfueled mess.

Yeah thats why I'm thinking a common piggyback that every tuner has played with and that is known to work ok might be the way to go

MegaSquirt has arrived, SMK has located some GTX injectors for me, just have to decide whether to grab them or find some new ones around 450cc?

330cc GTX's work great on mine. Easily big enough to get 160atwkw with a FPR and it idles like stock. Give them a go, I'm guessing they're not that expensive.

Adam, I used 330cc injectors and at 75% duty cycle got 150rwkw with my setup on stock fuel pump and stock FPR.
