Keep your fuel tank fairly full, see if the problem still occurs. The fuel should keep the pump cool.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

its on 3/4 tank, i might give the fuel pump fuse a diagnosis tomorrow if i get a chance.
