anyone know where to source a porter cable polisher locally? or an equivalently decent 4-6" polisher?

Cheers,

I'm using a random obital sander with Meguiars foam polishing pads. Works a treat and cheaper than the porter cable unit.

Rupes is the brand I used, and all the other detailers use.

any 7" sander polisher will do the job, it must have a low speed. buy something of quality as buffing puts quite a load on the machine. make sure you put some water on the job with the cutting compound , it keeps the area cooler and there is less chance of burning the paint. there are heaps of buffing accesories redily availible at any hardware for them.

i already have a decent 8" buffer. but im after a smaller head, maybe 5"...the ones mentioned are all 7" backs i think.
any recommendations on good 'smaller head' polishers?

The Meguiars G220 is a rebadged porter cable. They are a great machine. There is a new model coming out next month. The only place i know of that stocks them is carcareproducts.com.au
