GV LIP INSTALLED AND LIGHTS FIXED

Postby 16bit » Wed Oct 08, 2008 7:40 pm

just got these yesterday with a gv lip too but i think its not the correct one and does not fit. i think it looks quite sharp and should reduce weight by a little. main benifit will be the vent as I am in the middle of making an undertray which will close the bottom up a bit.

whoa to the bonnet :D looks sick.

not too sure about the boot lid. where the boot lid is supposed to line up with the tail lights, it looks like there's a gap there......

Well done, looks awesome. Thats the first vent in a mx5 bonnet that I've really liked.

Where did it come from?

Nice work 16bit !!!

Carbonfibre GALORE, all you need now is a CF hardtop, and CF the GV lip.

And polish up those foggy headlights :P

its all garage vary stuff. the quality is first rate. not too sure of the weight. its not rediculously light as it is still wet carbon. I think its top layer then the bracing is fibre glass. you have to see it to appreciate the quality. I bought it all new from japan through takakaira.co.jp. postage was a killer but i would have paid more to buy through an aussie importer anyway.

Request a slimline plate for the front, and get a sidemount bracket for the plate.

yeah probably going to get a personalised plate soon. the car has 5 months off the road so I think there will be time.

new bits installed NOW WITH PIC OF GV LIP MOCKED UP

Postby 16bit » Thu Oct 09, 2008 10:36 pm

The good boags came over tonight to confirm i do have the correct lip but I just needed to force it a bit more to fit. I have mocked it up with some tape. I feel it looks pretty good. Not sure if i am going to leave it unpainted as is or give it a few coats of black.
