Wasn't happy with the amount of roll on the track so have gone up to 800/500 from 700/450. although wouldn't mind trying a slightly thicker rear bar than the standard rear with say the 450 rears as a what if scenerio.

Just trying to work my way through one thing at a time now before doing anything else, found more pressure in the tyres was a good thing and want to try a few different camber settings but am having trouble with the settings slipping - have new camber bolts ordered from Mx5parts at present so hopefully that will fix things.

Picking up another engine tomorrow after what looks like stuffed bearings following the last supersprint at Eastern Creek....

Have a few things on order as the engine is coming out and their starting to drift in:-

Received this Maruha oil pan baffle in the post today, looks well made and has a couple of doors slow down oil exiting the oil pickup area but swing open to let oil in.

BTW, Awesome service from these guys in Japan, shipped the morning after ordering and was sent on the 19th and arrived today (the 22nd). Very happy!

Dodgy camera pic attached....

Oil filter relocation and oil cooler setup.
along with new seals and waterpump, timing belt etc....

I know exactly how you feel!
Hope you get it fixed soon. Did you find a decent 1.8?

After quite a long weekend I've finally the new engine back in and all fired up.

Goes well, surprisingly the Exedy race clutch is light and not at all grabby compared to other clutches I've had in the past. The lightweight flywheel also appears to be a good fit and makes the car much more responsive. Had to chase an oil leak from the remote oil filter fitting but apart from that was fairly stress free.

Took it for a quick blat yesterday and I'm very happy with the end result!

What I am happy about is the discovery of what turns out to be a
full Loch Stewart exhaust system including extractors on the car. (was like these don't look like standard Mazda fare... )

we're back in business,

The car had run out of rego in the past month so arranged a pink slip yesterday, just need to go over the engine and tighten everything up now . The new engine runs like a dream, and is quiet as, so looks like its a good one.

Good to have it back on the road again!

Stop copying me!

Good to hear its working. Need to install your brake valve now. Marcus and I did his today, its straight forward, check the thread for install details.

I'll have to have a try of your car, I think there's something wrong with mine.

Did you do the swap yourself?

why yours run out of rego too?? (man, got a roadworthy off the weirdest guy ever, so busy telling me about how I should be modding the car with he forgot to check all the lights etc...).

yeh, swapped it all over myself, put in all the new seals, flywheel, clutch, waterpump, timing belt etc..... Makes you remember why you didn't want to be a mechanic.

oh, I've ordered a beatrush undertray too.... :D

Just a few questions:

I see you have a Zoom Engineering Mirror, I'm looking at getting their CF side mirrors and a few other parts. I assume you got them from their site. Are they easy to deal with?

And also how much was freight for the 6UL's from 949racing?

Just one question, im considering a light weight flywheel for my NB8B, worth it?

Cheers
