Why? The model is an Australian only issue. They could have made it green with gold accents, now that could be a worry.
Jules
For the same reasons you don't see many green and gold Ferraris I suppose. See lots of "Italian Racing Red" ones though.

(Actually the SP prototype that ran in Targa was Green and Gold

Pity it's not an SP anymore

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Well the intercooled turbo kit is definitely not there.
I can't confirm if it is the same motor that was originally in there, although I think it is.
Basically a racy n/a NB8C atm ...

Just a thought: would the Targa test SP be SP build # 1? Build No 2 is for sale ATM. Does anyone know where No 1 is?

I think Garry's car (the black SP from the sydney motor show) is #1

Supreme Blue NB8B, 1:16.98 at Wakefield when stock, but it's not stock any more...

Nope, I got a bit confused initially. My airbox top and bottom are mixed up. I have the top from the number 1 car and the bottom from number 3. According to Lachlan Riddle from Chiptorque who remembered my car from his time with the SP development, my car was the 3rd prototype built. I cant remember which one he said was the first and second out of Daves blue car and Brian's old silver car. The numbering of the protypes was also supposed to be engraved on the ECU, (it is on my ECU). I'm not sure where the Targa Tasmania car fit into the numbering sequence though as there were only supposed to be 3 pre-production cars built. Maybe it was a development car and thats why all the turbo gear was stripped out of it before it was sold on.

Would it be possible to describe where on the ECU ?
Mine has no SP identification numbers at all, and is a very early VIN number.
Maybe mine is a development car, that got away with all the SP bits !

From memory my number is engraved on the outside of the case, though it might be on the bottom so u might need to take out the ECU and flip it over to read it. Only the pre-production cars were numbered though.

I guess 'Daves' car must be Number 1, as Garrys silver makes the claim to Number 2 ?
