tyres for 15x8's
just picked up the wheels. they look sweet and the tyres are not even stretched - super wide 205's. they are not on the car just yet as they are too wide - stay tuned should have it sorted tonight.

205's dont have the stretched look, i presume you ended up getting 002's?

tyres for 15x8's
hey guys, love all these pic's of hot wheels. its got me all excited sorry for hijacking the thred as well.
im currently looking at some 15x7's, 7.5's or 8's as well but i have a few reservations.
firstly my car is a daily nb8a so what ever i get/ do to it i have to live with it EVERY DAY.
my reservations include finding GOOD tyres (really like my f1 gsd 3's) not sure how i will go finding something that performs so well in a 7 or 8 inch with. ( will 195/50/15 stretch onto a 7in width???)
ive heard that driving on wheels of such width means that bumps/pot holes really unsettle the car and it will track anywhere and everywhere EXCEPT in a straight line. is this true?? the roads to my place are pretty shocking and dont want to be spearing off into a tree etc.
ive seen 0 and 38 offset on mania's web page but was thinking somthing around +20ish might be better ??? (whats the standard offset??) not sure where i can find nice rims at a reasonable price (like 200ish a rim NOT 500 or 600)
pulling and rolling of the guards, how hard/ expensive is it and who/where can it be done??
will i have to use mass neg camber??
is all that extra metal and rubber going to slow me down???
i think ive covered everything i wanted to know
thanks guys

sure did. the tyres are about 3mm wider then my mums 225 45 17 re001's.
I fit the wheels last night but still have a small rubbing issue which I will sort tonight. I will get some photos this afternoon.

easily, i am running 195/50 on my 8 inchers.

can depend on how much tyre is streched, personally i havent had many problems at all, and if you have dríven on parramatta road and hume hwy then you may reconsider shocking roads.

the standard is 40-45 (iirc) 15 - 20 offset will fill guards up nicely, on a na, on an nb i'd go for 15-10 as the nb is a little bit wider. as for finding rims... search! i looked around for months to find a nice rim to suit my taste (and my mx). you wont find many nice rims at $200 each (other then the sportmax's) maybe a 15x6.5?
pulling and rolling of the guards, how hard/ expensive is it and who/where can it be done??
i got my guards done for $40 each corner, not hard to do yourself though, look on youtube and search how to roll guards.
will i have to use mass neg camber??
depends on what rim you get, what size/offset they are, what height you want and so on. currently i am running -2 at the rear and -1 at the front, i am lowered 1.5 inches at the front and 2 at the rear, as shown in my pic i dont really need any camber but i chose it for future plans.
is all that extra metal and rubber going to slow me down???
eerr? do we have another wun here? if your that worried about weight then leave the stockies on!
i think ive covered everything i wanted to know
thanks guys
no problem

tyres for 15x8's
Well its been a while but I have pictures as promised. After deciding on what wheels I wanted (Sportmax 502's in 15 x 8 with 0 offset) i decided that I was going to need to do something about my arches. So I purchased come carbon fibre wide arches. Took me ages to find some but I finally did. Here are the pics of the wheels and arches now on.

VERY NICE!!!!!!
If you dont mind me asking, where did the guards come from and how much??
Did you have to drill holes in your pride and joy to mount them??
Now you have the carbon guards on, did that mean you didnt have to roll/pull the factory guards??
once again, very nice

they come from racing lifestyle in the states. they are 399 usd.
drill holes - thats the less cringy bit. You have to cut the guards to get the clearance!!!!!
its not so bad because you cant really tell.

I have 195/50/15's on my 15x8.5's
I'd really like to get some flares on my car but cutting the rear guards kind of scares me as you can't just bolt a new guard on like at the front if you want to get rid of the flares

get a wide body kit then - no flares needed. a lot more expensive though.

What would that achieve? You still need to cut the guards to run wheels that will take advantage of the extra guard width, so if you want to take it off you still have problems because theres a heap of metal missing on the rear guards

if you want to go wide - the stock fenders should not be an issue. just cut them or don't go wide its simple.

I have wide, I just don't think I want to cut my guards
