It was good weather when I woke up so I went anyway, then it rained as soon as i got to maccas. Alex, -Alex and I still went for a short run, probably a quarter of the way and started falling asleep so we stopped to take pics, its not the death trap everyone makes it out to be, even in the wet. There are a few overtaking lanes so its not too bad with traffic.

So in two weeks yeah??

Here we were, in the middle of nowhere.

We seriously were, it's a nice road for a drive though, I was expecting something closer to Mccarrs Creek Road.
For the part that we drove on it was 80-100km/h zones with mostly long corners. Road surface was great as well. Wehad a driver reviver stop on the side of a long straight and saw mostly trucks and daily drivers, with a few bikes thrown in, only thing that caught my eye was 2 porches which blasted past us.
That said the road could have changed just around the next bend (unless we were on the wrong road  )

You mean these ones?
Wanted to chase them but we didn't know where we were going and alex forgot to fill up, so we went and watched the mummy instead.

Very nice plants..

Regardless, any road is a death trap if you don't follow the road rules. But to answer your question, the road only gets exciting in sections. There are some very very fast . and twisty sections towards the end of the run. Most of it is just cruising corners. The reason why its a good run is because you get to go back on the Pacific Hwy. The sections before and after Pie in the sky are some of the best roads in N.S.W that I have dríven.

Haha yea it was a good day, more social and things, but Im glad we didn't find the road to be as bad as I had expected. Would be nicer in the sun though..

If you only drove a quarter of it you would have missed the tricky/dangerous/fun bits. In the second half there are a few corners which are deceptive and sharpen more than you expect them to. Maybe reserve judgment until you have dríven the entire length.

Any road can be dangerous but for the number of vehicles that travel on it I reckon the putty has a disproportionately high number of single vehicle accidents.

Nice pics BTW.

That's a fair call. Certain Central NSW Transport Companies were not insured on that road because so many of their drivers tipped trailers over going through there. And a good friend of mine nearly sent his Clio off the edge at that famously sharp right hander.... the one with all the car parts at the base of the hill.

But, at the end of the day, a car is a car, a road is a road. These things are only as 'dangerous' as the people who use them. Which is why it shouldn't matter if it's threatening rain when you plan a run. Because you should always drive to the prevailing conditions. If your not having fun because you speed isn't > x, then it's kinda missing the point. IMHO :D

Love the pics, Sasso!
