Just installed a ps2 Slim into my mx in the glove box

Postby MasterZ » Thu Sep 11, 2008 10:17 pm

Hey everyone, i bought a ps2 slim off my mate for $50. since i have a ps3 i thought i'd put it in my car.
me and my dad spent all dad putting it in and trying to get it to fit properly in the glove box.
To run the ps2, i bought a Car power supply for a ps2 slim which runs off the cigarette lighter socket. but we cut it off and hard wired it.

Here is some pics of the process and it being installed:

We finished it and it works great. as you might be able to see in the in last image, we had to mount it upside down as it was the only way it would fit. We also had to create a bracket that would hold it up (White aluminum on the left and right of image 4).

Have thought about doing similar.

Great job. How much did the power supply cost?

Do you find it hard concentrating on Metal Gear Solid AND trying to drive the twisties at the same time ?

I'd have thought a PS2 would suit an Auto MX5 better.

I like my GT games more then Metal Gear Solid. I guess it will be hard to play gt4 racing with a mx5 while driving the real thing. bu i havent really had a chance to use it yet.

Yep I'm sorted for the screen haha. I tend to watch movies when waiting to pick ppl up though. But a PS2 would just be such a great wank factor haha

Fuzzie,
Was that screen a perfect fit? Is that a spacer at the bottom?

Unfortunately I had to use the black plastic surround that comes with it. The gap down the bottom is simply that - a gap haha
