can you reach it without removing that flap below the steering wheel Lou?

If your a skinny asian or you have a great minds eye after reviewing some pictures.. Then you can do it..

My back hurts, my head hurts and my fingers are farked, but once i saw what needed to be looped i was determined to fix it..

Yeah...it's not close the the steering wheel,no need to remove any panels....just have to reach up to the side of the heater box.

a little off topic, but seeing that okibi posted the passenger side of the heaterbox, does anyone know if the na bypass pipe that connects to that triangle hole would fit an nb, i'm not sure if they used the same aircon systems between generations.
