Hey Guys, My name is Lochie Emes... Some of the SA Members might know my father Pete (Emeseey) One of the early members of the SA mx5 club and an ex MX5 racer at Mallala & Collingrove. Anyway I have finally saved up enough money to purchase one myself and could not be a happier man! 100% stoked and the old man is pleased that i can see the soul in the car rather than labelling it a 'chicks car' like most other people my age. She will be very well looked after. This car owes me approimatly 450, 000 clean dishes haha!! Looking forward to meet some of the SA members... I'm around the Glenelg Area so you might see this one down the bay sometime ;) Here She is just in time for summer!
1989 AUS Delivered NA with 157,000 kms (must have been on the first ship over)
Things wrong with it:
The Wheels! haha they came with the car, I just don't know what to think. Anyone Interested?
The rear window also needs replacing, i have heard many different stories about these on the forum and from My Dad's Mates but if you can point me int he right direction that would be great.
AND A BIT OF PHOTOSHOP FUN!

hey welcome aboard. i believe i have heard your dads name from around somewhere, probably the MX5 Club wesbite. why don't any of the official members hang out here??
ah wait!, it was your dad that had the 12AT rotary engine MX-5. it was sold to Duj here (not so active anymore) & then sold to lil_mike (also on here) in Brisbane.
anyway, it looks good. luckily not one of the white ones that had paint flaking problems. mines an 89 (the original!) as well, but with 266,000Ks & then the head went bang. now with a 33,000K NB6 engine
if it's only the rear window that needs replacing & the rest of the top is ok, Wilshire Motor Trimmers can replace just the rear plastic window (& do patch jobs on any rips in the top if you want). there the place i went to, to replace my whole softtop with a glass windowed version.
check out the Events section for SA, theres a cruise & lunch happening out at Victor Harbor soon. & join the SA mailing list to be kept up to date with SA events.

Thanks! Yes the Rims are slowly growing on me, I might keep them but i will also buy some 15" light weights as well cos we have heaps of old semi slickies i can stick on for 15".
Well my dad is a Dinosaur and is still getting his head around the internet I am not sure about the other official members lol but these days he hangs out on the Renault forums as hes been quite successful in his clio.
He did own the Red 12aT mx5 running the Wold 3D! I Still have some mean pictures of it I can post if you like. If you want to know why I like mx5's so much, <<<< that is one of the reasons! That car was the most insanely exhilarating experience whilst keeping my clothes on i have ever had in my life and today is still the best car i have ever been in along with his Yellow Mx5 race car. Good Memory! I nearly rang you up supermazdakart when i was looking for an mx5, i saw yours on carsales i think and only just realised you are a enthusiast mx5 head.
Wilshire on Sth Road Richmond quoted me $300 for a cheap replacment and $390 for a good one so I will opt the good one if i go with them ;) still have not checked that rain seal i think it is but will learn more about that in the coming days. I will subscribe to the SA Mailing List. Thanks Heaps!

ah the generation difference between young'ns & oldies. use it to your advantage cause theres a wealth of info on tuning performance, customisation, parts supplies available online worldwide.
lol, i did write in the ad that i am an enthusiast and member of MX5cartalk/OzMadaClub. it wasn't just a sales pitch. why won't someone buy it already.. i wanna get closer to my goal of an MX5 SE..
it's funny your name is Lochie, sure you would of heard of the other famous Lochie, Loch Stewart.

Dont get me wrong your car is very nice! Im Assuming it should definitely sell at $ 9000. Thats seems cheap for a BP low km engine. I saw your car on Cardomain as well with the Mario setup haha cool.
The Internet and computer technology is a marvelous thing and I am hoping to take my career into that field specializing in Motorsport... but trying to stay on top and up to date with the technology game is even hard for a kid, trust me! (We may have all these computers and gadgets but Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll and engines still exist!) It is only going to get more complex and move faster until the point where grease, oil and inertia are extinct!
I had heard of Loch Stewart but did not know anything about the man, after a few minutes of research I am gathering he made a Intake system of some sort? Maybe created the airflow from behind the firewall or something? His name is also attached to other performance parts for mx5's, he died in 2005 and his son is called Gary who is carrying on the business?

they are 17 x 7, +40 advantek's. I have 5 of them and are not sure what to do with them! They look awesome on the car but... i've never really been one to roll around on chrome or 17's.. not really my style lol. Im all about the 14" or 15" 3,4,5 or 6 spokes with huge dish and neg offset! now thats cool.
Planning on keeping the car pretty stock as I do not really have the cash to play around with expensive cars! mx5's are expensive when you are at school and make your income by washing dishes regardless of what you may say! I am just spewing that the old man has sold just about every nut and bolt from his race car that he wrote off. He sold the car for $14.40 to Sim's metal and accumulated about 8 grand just from the second hand hot bits off it. If only one may say haha.

Welcome
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
