winking wanking headlights

My car has developed an unusual habit which is very embarrasing in public. On wet nights, the headlights pop up and down ( in unison) rapidly, without warning, much to the mirth of passers by. This goes on until I can push the light button on the dash to keep them up. Does anyone know why Ive got the droop?

Blinker/Headlight stalk switch is failing it will need to be replaced, sometimes the headlights may just turn on but not pop up (even with the ignition off)

Ampz write ( sort of) "Headlights cant get up, even when turned on"....

Thanx ampz, that must be spot on, because I didnt mention that sometimes happens as well ( well, there are some things you dont like to admit .. :oops:

)

Is there a simpler fix, like a nasal spray for the car?
