koni yellow coilover help!!

Postby 284GCZ » Sat Aug 23, 2008 2:30 pm

ey guys just new to car talk and just have a few queries maybe you can help me with..

ok my car has had koni yellow struts, installed by a previous owner... I'm assuming they're height adjustable as the struts have 3 slits that look like perches for the circlip and spring mount to adjust up and down on.. does this sound right??
From what i've heard koni adjustables have 3 height settings each 12 mm apart.. am i right?

currently on the highest setting i am wanting to lower it probably to the lowest setting to suit the wheel package i have for the car (15x8 +15)
i need a harder spring rate also.. would any 2.5inch wide spring suit the strut?

sorry for the barrage of questions.. so if anyoes been down this road with the koni circlip adjustables please give me some pointers and tips!
thanks in advance- Luke

you have 3 circlip settings. They do vary in hight a little. with that wheel combo.....I'd be inclined to leave it on the top......however fore the sake of it.....you could try the middle & see how it goes.

you obviously drive a NA. If not, ignore my comments. also have a read of this thread

as far as doing the harder spring......you want this car to be drivable? and handle right? King & Koni combo is pretty ordenary. but then again, I belong the the cardigan brigade so don't take me too serious.

i have the same setup..

but depending on what springs you use it can vary the height, i have jamex springs which looked quite short compared to kings when they were standing next to each other.

i have the back on the lowest setting and the front i think halfway from memory.

the car sits even and right on the tire.
