Thanks, a lot of work went into planning this run. We had a lot more turn up than expected 41 cars in total including 3 from Canberra. I am glad you enjoyed it even the diversion taken by a few but we all ended up at the right destination. I am sure you will agree the weather was perfect and the view from the walk was truly spectacular.

My apologies to everyone for causing all the grief, especially to Kim and Peter. I know how hard it is to keep everyone going the right way on runs. It was a combination of a miss understanding and not reading the run sheet properly. But everyone seemed to make it to the final destination eventually and it was a brilliant day for a cruise in the country and the view was well worth the trip.

Detour via mac pass was not intentional, as gary mentioned it was just a miss understanding. Once again, thanks for hosting the event

All is good, everything ended up just fine, no apologies needed after all both roads headed the same way. Cheers and thanks to Garry for getting the rest of you to the Fly.

Great run, pity I couldn't stay for the walk. Contrats to Kim & Pete for a fantastic job.
I was a little naughty going up the pass. Got very frustrated being caught behind a couple of drivers driving, shall we say ‘conservatively’ around some of the best MX5 corners in the country. Blasted past at the overtaking lane and then quickly realised that at warp speed I’d loose my licence if a boy in blue came the other way and backed off. Then around the next corner there was a 4WD + horse trailer blocking a line of traffic behind him from passing, so my earlier move didn’t matter anyway.
I returned via Jamberoo Mountain, and again was held up about half way down but the drive was still good. I think more and more people are discovering this road as an alternative to Macquarie Pass which is a pity.

Not intentional, but most welcomed by this driver and his co-driver
Was a great run, and great opportunity to start making some new friends/acquaintances from within the club. Already looking forward to the next opportunity!

Whether you diverted or not the run was always going to go through Macquarie Pass

Ahem:
Hurricane wrote::D What are you doing with your hardtop on Garry, this is the best time of year to have the hood down. I have already put in for a sunny day, so should be no problem there.
Well, not for me since i had to head home after the Fly, and home is just the other side of Robertson (about 20 mins drive from the Illawarra Fly).
It's all good, I've organised enough drive days for other clubs/groups to know how things can get out of hand. To run a cruise like this with 40 cars as smoothly as that is really very good.
Saw your car there Hurricane, but couldn't find you so apologies we didn't catch up. The next one, then!

I am sorry I didn't get to meet you but these runs are getting rather huge and trying to find the time to catch up with everyone becomes somewhat difficult. I look forward to meeting you at some stage on a future run

Only just got back from the run this afternoon! We left the Fly and stayed over in Bowral for the night and came back by the old Hume Higway this afternoon (some people have all the luck). Fantastic weather and great organization, especially with the number of cars Thanks Hurricane and Pete, you guys put a lot of spade work into putting it together. We did get misled by someone (no names!) but at least the creek crossing washed all the horse poo off the tyres. As for the obstructions going up Mac Pass, I had the same problem as CB. I finally got past an old codger who slowed down to 5k at every corner and then caught up to a car and trailer which meant a slow drag to the top At least I got to use my gears :
