like STM says, it's not a race, it's a day to enjoy the road and ourselves.
my boss here at work tells me there's been "suicides" in the past where people drive their cars off the cliffs.... we all know it was for insurance purposes

I think i should be able to make it.
It'll be the first run i've been able to make in over a year! been that bloody long. at least with other 5's anyway
and i can still remembers Stan's putty run from year before last.
not to mention a nice bleary eyed (and damn freezeing) start to get there from gosford.
fingers crossed something doesn't come up like normal...

its a lot longer.
a lot further from anywhere if anything happens
the posted speed limit is higher
a lot of corners are a lot tighter than the old pack with a higher speed limit.
heaps more corners
quite a no of double corners. where it appears the corner is finished & then surprises you.
The old pac has some of those on stage 3
temptation to go beyond your limits is far higher on putty.
wild life
that's all i can think of at the moment.

I hate corners like this, you head around them at a nice comfortable speed then they suddenly get sharper and it's hard braking then back on the throttle to stop the understeer, makes me very cautious of corners I can't see the end of

pfffffttt I knew this would happen..!
but for the record I drive better than him, he doesn't have the time to get out and go for runs.
(though yes, I have incredible fear of blind corners.)

not sure if the GPS will help a lot. keep your eyes on the road & keep your head together. you'll be fine. we have several stops planed along the way for catch up & re-group. At the Half way house we'll be re-grouping & having a rest as well as telling tall stories & so on.
next stop is about 40km or so...when we turn off to Broke. I'll be stopping to re-group.
sure have your GPS with you But I'd be switching it off between the half way house truck stop as you will be on one of the best stretches of road around Sydney. I don't know but I would find a GPS a hindrance on a road like that. Maybe that's just me.
it will be pretty damm hard to loose me. Its only one way. we'll do a head count when we leave. so no one gets left behind if you get my drift. Yes we will probably have some distance between some of the cars but that why we have the re-groups & socials & photo opportunity.
