Enkei RPF1s 16x7 - Offset? Goodwin Racing Freight?

Hi everyone,

I am currently looking into purchasing a set of Enkei RPF1s for my nb8a. I currently have 16x7.5 rims with a 38 offset running Potenza 215 tyres so therefore I want to stay with 16x7s so I can reuse the tyres.

The problem I'm facing is offset. YHI who bring Enkei rims into Australia only stock the 43 offset in my size and Im wondering if I would be better off getting the 35 offset from Goodwin Racing in the US.

Using the offset calculator at: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp it says that the 43 offset will be 11mm inwards from where my current wheel sits. The current wheel sits fairly far out but I'm unsure if 11mm will be too far.

If you have pictures of the 43 offset in a 16x7 please post so I can see

Also, has anyone had 4 wheels shipped over from Goodwin? If so did you have to pay any import duties etc etc?

Brad you might find that you have to phone Goodwin to sort out payment if you buy wheels there. I tried to use a credit card yesterday to buy some sway bar mounts but their system wouldnt accepty it.

Just out of curiosity how much is shipping from the USA because the wheels are only like $200 bucks!

Or can these go into 1Red5 shipping container?

You just add how many wheels you want to your cart and press checkout to calculate shipping, if its what your after you continue the order.

As Mossy said. From memory, US$400+

I got mine by ordering two wheels at a time, sent separate shipments a week or so apart. Freight was pretty much the same, they ship two per box so it was always going to be two boxes = four wheels.

I know where there is a set of brand spankers 15x7 for sale here in Oz...

Actually, I ordered some other stuff as well, so it ended up three shipments IIRC. And no, I didn't pay any GST

Just because you made two orders doesn't mean you pulled it off But if that worked then maybe I shall do the same. Cheers for the info.

Thanks for those pics. Did you find that the 43 offset was ok on the nb? I'm worried they won't sit far enough out for my liking..

Hi Brad,
My philosophy behind using +43 offset was different. I wanted to get what was locally available but as close to the factory offset as possible so I could set it up with suspension parameters/settings that I knew would work based on the last 10yrs of experience. Remember as well that I run semi slicks which are taller tyres due to the construct of the sidewalls (higher aspect ratio) so this means that there is less clearance to play with in the guards if you play around with offset in my case. Removing the inner guards means stones in your doorsill so I still have my guards.

Not to say that running a different offset will not work as I am sure plenty of race cars run spacers, low positive, zero or even negative offset wheels and wider track. I just did not want to spend time, money and effort getting the suspension geometry to work with a different offset when I had already found what I and many other local motorsport competitors felt to be just right.

So if it is rims that have huge dish or that sit flush with your guards, I'm afraid this offset will not do that. However, if they 'look' good enough in the pics then I can also promise you that you won't be disappointed.

1 Can you squeeze 14" rims aswell??

2 I presume you only need the willwoods on the fronts?

3 Do the willwoods take same size rotor as OEM or are they larger heavier rotors? Do they have options of the lighter two piece rotors?

4 Why did you run a 50 profile rubber? Especially when you say slicks are taller than a standard rubber? Why not use a 40 or 35 profile reduce the diameter = reduced moment of inertia and less side wall flex???

No, you can NOT fit 15" Enkei RPF1s over the Wilwood B-R-A-K-E-S according to Brian at Goodwin

No I think the bigger rear rotors are essential to help heat dissipation.

I think the Version 4 Big Brake Kit has approx 280mm DBA 5000 slotted rotors in front which are slight bigger than the largest NB ones. Version 3 & 4 kits have with extremely light Alumalite centre hats. Version 1 & 2 have alloy centre hats in front but solid rears (heavier).

Construction of most semi-slick tyres require a much stronger sidewall so they only come in this aspect ratio for 205mm widths to suit 16" rims. I could have gone a 215/45/16 but then 215s would rub with my current suspension geometry set up. Have a look here for the Bridgestone motorsport specs - clicky
