Just painted calipers

Postby Quicksilver » Sun Aug 03, 2008 3:31 pm

I have just painted my brake calipers with VHT Brake Paint (Racing Red). the can says touch dry in three hours, dries completely overnight. The guy in Autobarn however says to set properly, I should heat up the brakes by going for a half hour drive soon after painting. Doesn't sound right but thought i would ask you guys. I know AZNTieN and Bigdog have painted their calipers recently. Probably others have too. Whats the verdict? Drive or let them sit?

I would let it sit for at least 12 hours personally. I would believe the writing on the can over the armchair expert any day :D

blue? - do you have a blue car? It would be nice to match the exact colour.
