What tyres on your daily driver???

I have to change all four tyres on the wife's car this weekend.
The car is a Toyota Azura (Read Camry with a few whistles & bells).
Am replacing Michelins. They were so harsh and must have thumped the bejeesers out of the suspension.
I would be interested to know what you guys run during the week, and what you would fit next time.
Also the Advans on the LRR are getting low - What are you guys running for hillclimbs and sprints?

Just wanted to pop in and say congratulations on the grandson! Have you got the calendar ticking down the days until he can enter a Motokhana?

I'm no help on the daily driver question as my 5 is my daily driver and I am holding out for 14" Adrenaline's arriving in Sept.

Oh, tyres for the Camry? No idea. As for LRR, well my 615s are wearing pretty rapidly but pretty sticky for a road tyre.

Until recently I had a Camry Altise and a Camry CSI before that. I was always happy with Yokahamas and most recently had a set of Toyos. Sorry I dont recall the specific types as I no longer have the Camry but would have cost around $130 each. The tyres Toyota put on as originals are terribly noisy, especially on concrete highways. Michelins used to be the premium tyre years ago but I suspect most other brands have caught up to their quality now. As always you need to talk with the tyre dealer whether you want long wear or good grip, whether you find the current tyres noisy or not. I always believe its worth paying extra for good tyres but the problem is you dont really know until after you have bought them!

The car I have now is a VY Commie which came with Bob Jane All Rounders. I always thought they would be cheap and nasty but on a daily drive car I have found them okay both for around town and some highway work. I have heard though that they don't last too long.

I just replaced the tires on Mrs Bigdog's Focus with a set of Bridgestone Potenzas (195/60x15) at $125 a tire and I'm very impressed with their grip all round, nice and quiet too. I run T1R toyos on the SP (my daily driver) and have had great mileage from them (35000km on the last ones) given that traction in my car is optional extra

Yokohama A539's on my car atm, too grippy and don't give much warning when they reach the edge of their available abilities

I would suggest Toyo Transas Teo may be worth looking at currently running them on my Verada excellent grip and a lot quieter than the original Bridgestone Turenzos./ Been on for 45,000 ks and still have plenty left. Best prices appear to be @ Tyrepower

Fitted a set of Yoki C - Drives this arvo.
Was very impressed with the specs.
Even more impressed after an ABS emergency stop in the rain on the way back from rhe tyre service!
65 through a set of 35 downhill bends in the rain was quite comfortable in the Azura, so
when they scuff in and we get used to each other, I feel that i will be satisfied.
Time will tell, I guess, but they certainly aren't as harsh as the old Michelins.
BTW the odo clicked over 49,000 on the way to the tyre service, so I guess, if nothing else, we got great mileage
out of the M's, although, I must say that for the past couple of years, I was wishing that they would wear out quicker!
Once again, many thanks for your input, I don't post as often as I possibly should, but always value your experience.
BTW, the guy at the tyre service was keen to sell me the new Yoki Advan replacement or the new Proxes
for the LRR, but I notice that you guys are creaming over the Adrenalins.......Why so?

Adrenalines?

Basically I am keen on getting them in 14" because they are supposed to be great tyres and sensational in the bang for your buck stakes. My 5 is my daily driver and being an ABS free zone I want to make sure there is good rubber under me. Every review I have read of the Adrenalines and every thread about them on different car geek forums only have good things to say. In fact one of the threads I read was on here. Will see if I can find it and bump it for you.

The only negative comment I found was from a guy setting up a drift car who had issues with the sidewall tearing on one of his Adrenalines after he had caned the living bejeesus out of them. Hmmmm ... could have been any one of a number of issues and I think he could have been looking for an easy fix blaming the tyre.

Adrenalins are not yet around in 14" sizes but Bridgestone are still selling their GIIIs in 14s which are equal to the Adrenalins in price, performance and comfort.

Couldn't agree more about the Michelins. We had Michelin Energy as OEMs on the other car. We abandoned them at less than 25% worn because of scary lack of grip combined with incredible harshness. She wanted to sell the car until we realised all its problems were caused by the tyres.

I've always run Yoko tyres on all our cars and have them on the Camry.

But when I went to look at tyres to go on my new 15x7 rims, I just couldn't justify the $80 a tyre
difference between the A Drives and the Bridgestone RE001s.
I've found them to be extremely quite,smooth and bloody brilliant wet or dry, mind you I am comparing them to the
Falkens that were on the car when we bought it, (absolute S%^T tyres)

2 track days haven't even worn the sides off the tread but that is probably the old woman driving ( shut up ZOOM ZOOM)
