Didnt really think that made much of a difference to handling...

Mr Muzza... you've seen my garage.... you haven't seen my room. The phrase "...doesn't need anymore..." does not exist in my vocabulary. :P

I'll be headed over to MX-5Plus this Saturday. I'll see if Richard has any. He had one a while back, but haven't seen it recently.

The braces were available on the NA8s. Many Mazda wreckers have them. However, your NB8 has extra chassis bracing that I would have thought negates the need for a cockpit brace?

well its not really for the bracing, its so i can use some harness's on it but the more bracing the better. if they dont happen to make them for my model, or are too flimsy then i will have to get one made up.

Personally I wouldnt be attaching a harness to one of those. The one on my NA felt rather flimsy. I removed (and since sold) it for a BD bar

If you don't want to put on a roll bar, have you considered getting a good quality style bar?

Even Mrs Benny noticed the increase in stiffness when I had the RB2 fitted.

Put a BD rollbar in, then you can mount harnesses to that.

I thought you already had a rollbar?
if so then you could just get backing plates and have them mounted on the rear parcel shelf

i do have a rollbar, it isnt really suit for harness's though, and i originally had backing plates on etc but the metal had bent a bit with all the pulling and tugging. the idea i had was to get a seatbelt tower brace either made up or off the shelf, and get some wrap around harness's to place on it.

The cockpit brace was only available on the NA8. Late 1993 to 1997. The NA should fit, except you have a roll bar. Depending on the roll bar you have it may interfere with a cockpit brace, i.e. they both generally fit in the same place, between the seat belt towers.

Here is a shot of the brace that I was using up until recently.
