14" Adrenalins

Postby RaYmO » Mon Jul 28, 2008 11:10 pm

At the beginning of this year I recalled a post saying the Adrenalins were going to be made available for those still rolling around on 14".

I think the sizing was 185/60R14 and there was an ETA of late July/early Aug... anyone heard of any news/rumours on the availability of the Adrenalins in this size?

I might need to do some google searching to find the post.

Cheers,

Ray

Is there a reason why you are sticking with 14" wheels and tyres Ray?
I have reached the limit of what 185/60 tyres (Bridgestone GIII) can do on the track and mountains, and am desperate to get my 15" wheels (and associated 195 or 205/50 or 45 tyres) on.

I don't want to part with my watanabes :D

Also, I don't do mountain runs or track my car... but I do want quality rubber and it isn't something I want to skimp on. From various reviews the Adrenalins are the bees knees for performance vs $$

I don't have any issues with the GIIIs and I'd get another set if they were still available :(

You can still get GIIIs in 14 inch I got some about a month back. The guy from the tyre store had no problems getting them, he thought they were no longer made but was informed they still do the 14 inch ones.

Ahh... When I called around about 4 months ago the answer I got everywhere was that it was discontinued :roll:

Nevertheless... I got a response from Bridgestone:

Production of 185/60R14 Adrenalin is scheduled for August. We should see stock by sept.

When they are made could you please let us know how much they cost?

16" = $200

15" = $120

So 14" should be around $40.... :D

LOL

I like your maths but I don't think the pricing is very linear :lol:

My Guess is around the $90~$100 mark per corner - Fingers crossed!

That's even cheaper than I was expecting. Yay! :D

Perfect timing that they will be available in September 'cause I figure that's about when my current tyres will expire and need replacing.

I was told on Thursday from Hurstville Bridgestone that the 14" adrenalines should be available from 7 September, though apparently some stores may already have them in stock . Price quoted was $120 each fitted & balanced with a $5 discount if you are an NRMA member. They are 185 x 60 x 14.

i would estimate that they would be a similar price to 15" tires as they are less common than 15's

G3s seem to be around the $120-5 for 15" and 14" so id guestimate these would be around 120 a tire which is pretty good. i payed that for my 14" C-Drives.

the 205 x 50 R15 Adrenalines last week were $140 each ( with NRMA discount) after ringing around. That was cheapest. Dearest was $ 195, then $182, then $179, then $159( with most around $159) and best was $145 less the NRMA discount making it $140. Wish I could have found them around $115-$120, which is price quoted on another thread July-early August ( with free CB radio!!!). Maybe there has been a price rise? The price I got for the 14" adrenalines ($120 )was the same at a couple of shops- I think that might be the RRP. The Bridgestone Tyre Centres were by far the cheapest.
