buckled wheels

Postby oongie » Mon Jul 21, 2008 1:29 am

Hi all,

just bought a 2nd hand set of wheels real cheap...
But once taking them home found out one had a really nasty buckle in it.

Anybody know of a cheap place in the Sydney region.
Looking to get rid of gutter rash and all that myself but only really need the buckle fixed.

Cheers Paul

Theres a great one in thornleigh down in the industrial area. Repaired two buckled 18\" rims for me this time last year for $200 cash per rim. Did a really great job, dropped them off on the monday picked them up on the wednesday

i'd query whether the rims are worth being repaired.. you might be better off buying new wheels than repairing wheels that cost more for repairs than what it's worth
i can't brain today.. i have the dumb..

Haha i considered this, but when the rims were $800 each new, repair was a better option (18x8 RAYS forged alloy rims)

If the wheels on the car, you would be feeling a *lumpiness* as it goes over the buckled section.
If its really bad you may be able to see it on the outer lip of the rim.

If an alloy wheel has got a buckle in it I would be surprised. I would then throw it away because of the fatigue
