[N S W] Putty Road Run, Sunday Sep. 14th 2008

Postby sliq » Sun Jul 20, 2008 12:32 am

Greetings, forumites!

Putty Road Run, Sunday August 31.

Stantheman will be leading the pack.

Tentative details are (according to STM):

- Leave by 0600 hours from McGraths Hill/Windsor McDonalds, Cnr Windsor Rd & Groves Ave
- Be at Halfway House by 0730 hours
- Pie in the Sky by 1130 to 1200 hours.
- The run will be approximately 400km so make sure you have a hefty tank of fuel (not so much for the distance, but for the thrashing)

I know it's a tad early for those coming out from the inner west ish sorta area, so maybe we can rendezvous somewhere and head out as a pack? Makes things easier.

fingers crossed alex, that you don't have to be in a passenger seat this time around but instead be a driver :P

I think the only way I can possibly make it is to turn up in a campervan!

Could be a bit tricky securing the microwave for the high speed cornering!

That would be "super-mega-awesome"...
or maybe not :P

Camping is pretty much level with taking the mx-5 for a spin, so I'm sure you'll have fun all the same!

firstly it was because someone needed to be back in Sydney by 12pm.

secondly....its because of the traffic. Later in the morning/day Putty Road gets all these mobile chicanes.....called motorbikes & 4wd's. Night time is potentially deadliest of all the times to go. Trust me.....I know, just don't ask how.

Thirdly it was a suggestion bye me. its my preferred time to go along there because of the reasons above. Nothing is concrete. I aim to please. I'll leave it up to sliq to make the call if the time nees to be changesd. I'll just be there.

fourthly.....I have a family myself & I would score major brownie points at being home by the time the better half gets out of bed. As well as having a great drive & catching up with friends. For me its win/win if its an early run.

I hope that clears it up a little

i think at this stage, six am will be right.. the last thing we want is a run with traffic which'll break up the group.

The early start also means we'll be back to Pie in the Sky for lunch :D
