High Spec alarm chirps

I ordered a new 2008 NC Roadster with the high spec alarm. I picked the car up early and arranged to have the alarm installed at the 1000km service. In the meantime, I read the alarm manual, and decided that I didn't want the loud chirps on arm/disarm. I requested this at the service - Eurocars Mazda in Sydney - but was told on picking up the car that the alarm didn't have this option. I said yes it did, it's written in the manual. The best the guys at Eurocars could say was \"maybe it's referring to the European model\".

So I thought I'd program it myself. Oops.

The manual that I have - European/Australian/who knows? - says that a combination of arm/disarm/turn the key a set number of times will turn various options on and off, including chirps. But it hasn't worked for me. Now, whenever I open the boot, the indicators flash five times. And it still chirps on arm/disarm.

Anyone had the same problem or know where I can get the right manual? Any other ideas?

take it back to the dealer and say fix my stupid alarm

i have this problem, it happened last year and i still havent been able to fix it :oops:

however i have a 2000 nb8a and i am not sure if the alarms are the same. but on mine it seems locked and doesnt want to stop going off, it reacts to the keypad but still chirps like crazy. let me know how you go

What brand of alarm is it?

You might save yourself a lot of time and effort if you go directly to the alarm makers and ask them to fix it for you.

Nothing wrong with it. When you unlock the boot via the remote, it actually de-activates the alarm. This causes the indicator lights to flash 5 times - highlighting that the boot alarm has been de-activated (doors remain alarmed) If you unlock the boot by pressing the button in the car, with the keys in the ignition... the lights will also flash 5 times. An additional warning system i guess.

Not sure how to dis-arm the sound though. They're not that loud?! One small beep for lock... two for unlock.

our Sprinter van has a high spec Mongoose alarm that chirps on the lock & unlock function, but to get around it (told this by mongoose themselves) we just hit both buttons at once when locking, & it doesn't chirp to lock, then when you use the single button to UNlock it, it doesn't chirp either....................obviously a manufacturers work around for those (like me) who detest the chirping.............worth a try :?:
