Main Issue with performance in mind is the bad flow generated from all those ribs

If the size is large enough, then that can make up for it slightly, as long as its placed between filter and MAF, not between MAF and throttle Body as this may reduce performance.

From the ones i have seen at parts stores the size doesn't look large enough, and there very Flimsy bending easily, which will affect performance

I have seen improved versions with a plasticy rubbery inside, these look ok when straight, but do crimple up when bent, so their better, but if used should be setup with that in mind

I want one made out of CF man...

Not to mention tubes without ribs = less weight...

And the little box / heat shield for the pod filter I want that made out of CF too.

CF should be insulative so it should keep the air cool yer?

What are the calculations every 10 deg drop in temp is 1 kw??
every ounce counts

Hey about these.....I went down to my local autobarn on the weekend and bought a crappy TFI Pod (IE..Hot Air Intake..lol) and also the adaption plate for the MX5. but on closer inspection I found out that my AFM, actually goes into the air filter box, and it looks like a sealed unit?

My air filter box also has a sensor plugged into the side of it. But im assuming it isnt neccessary because I pulled it out and started the car and had no dramas.

So how do I get the pod to fit the AFM if the AFM goes into the box?

The pods purely for the sound until further down the track when I get a real intake.

Cheers

There's 2 nuts underneath that hold it in place, remove them and then remove the AFM.
