I suppose I should make an official comment on these since I've been running them for about 3 weeks.

Dry grip is pretty bloody good. Wet grip was alright, but I could still flick the rear out without much problem. They don't squeal nearly as much as my old Kuhmos do when I push it, and they seemed to do fairly well at the track when they warmed up (let's not mention my off at turn 3 at Wakefield on the very first lap ).

I rang a couple and they were quoting $225/230

The first 3 bridgestone tyre centres I rang all said $197 fitted & balanced.

Ended up going to campsie because it was ~5 minutes from home.

With the free CB radio deal it ended up a very nice price

They're not directional tyres, at least not in the size I have - 195/50r15. They just have an inside and an outside. Doesn't matter, they work brilliantly.

I don't know about the particular tyres that you're talking about but certainly with some (including my RT615s) there is more tread on the inside. If you have some negative camber in your alignment you will be running on the inside shoulder when you aren't cornering too hard. If it's wet you won't be able to corner too hard so there's no reason to have much tread on the outside shoulder.

So, basically, different parts of the tyre are going to be used to different extents under different weather conditions. Actually, I suppose even if you don't have much neg. camber you'll still run on the outside shoulder side more when there's more grip (ie. dry weather).

I've done two track days and about 1000ks driving on our RE001's.

All i can say is they are BLOODY BRILLIANT.

The tyres haven't feathered on the edges and tyres didn't go off from the first flying lap to the last lap. As an all round tyre, verrrrrry happy

and wow the tires must weigh a lot

my rims were light as till the tires came on they felt like they weighed more than 2 of my rims

How much are people paying for there RE001 in 15" 195 / 50

I got mine for $120 fitted onto new rims not onto the car

I paid I think $486 all up. However, included in that price is the $10 disposal fee plus a strip fit balance from one rim to another which was about $20. The price per tyre was something like $115 or thereabouts.
