No not at Phillip island, although possibly Winton. I decide Phillip Island wasn't the best place for my first time out on the track, and probebly a bit too early.

I'm doing an advanced driver training day at Sandown the day after that includes laps of the track with instructors, I think that this will be good to do before I do a sprints day. I may come down and do some filming though, we'll see.

I understand what your saying about the island. If you come down there will be an opportunity for some good shots. May even get a Koala to sit in your car :).
Cheers

Cheers buddy, I think they really modernise the look of the car, no one who doesn't own a mx5 picks it as a 90 model :P

And yeh i'm a p plater. Nice choice of car you have I think it is a fantastic first car on so many levels. Do you have yours yet?

No, I dont have one yet.
I've grown up around them and other mazda's as my dad owned a malibu gold NA and sold it a couple of years ago and previously owned a Mazda MX6.
My uncle also owns an NA MX5 and races it like alot of the other people in the MX5 Club.

I think its a perfect car for my P's as the new law now states that you can only have one passenger between 16-21 and as the MX5 only has two seats, that law doesn't really effect me :P.

New pictures on page one :D

And below is the mx-4x4 at phillip island. The photos dont really show it well enouth, my mx5 had more mud on it than most 4wd's see in a life time.

Did you get the wheels with the car or did you buy them? Good choice for off roading.

The wheels came with the car, I was lucky with that as the first mod I wanted to do was changing the na6 wheels to either the nb 15 or 16's. They are a bit heavier than the 14's, but for 16's they are surprisingly light.

The ride is a bit rough off road (40 psi in the tyres doesn't help), and its not so good with the roof off as water splashes inside the cabin, but otherwise why would you need a 4x4

Good to see my little girl is being looked after Ben, I hope you've been enjoying it mate! If you want to lower it I have my Bilsteing package advertised now that I intended on fitting to the car when I had it.

Well it's been one year as of yesterday since I bought her, what a fun year, what a great car!

She also ticked over 200,000 kms a few weeks ago. I filled her up today, 7.8 litres per 100 kms from about 75% suberban and 25% country driving and thats not 100% sedate driving. You just have to love these little cars 8)

Haha congrats mate! These cars keep so damn well.

Im burning quite a lot of fuel lately, I'm thinking my air filter might be very very dirty. Might check it up tomorrow.

Thanks mate. The air filter is definently worth a look, only takes a minute to get a look at. Although it could be a number of things, I htink there were recently a few good threads with a lot of things to look at. As a rough guide I average a bit below 9 litres per 100kms, my worst tank has been 10 litres per 100kms. I think this is fairly average. 7.8 was achieved running 14 degrees timing advance on 98 octance petrol.
