Yup. From Bridgestone Tyre Centres. And if you're an NRMA member, you get another $5 off per wheel if you flash your card. Plus I think they still have the walkie talkie deal going on if you buy 4 wheels. I just hope I get my car back soon so I can make good on these bargains/bonuses.

Tyres from Tyretech in Brisbane. About $270 each. I think you can get them cheaper but I was in a hurry and live close to Tyretech.

Price - $139/tyre fitted & balanced
Dry grip - n/a
Wet grip - Very impressed. Old tyres managed to keep spinning till half way through third. I am lucky to chirp these in the wet when changing a gear!

Road noise - low
Noticed an immediate improvement in cornering over the older tyres. Will update comments after 600km's.

Dry grip - n/a

Now that i've worn them out i guess i can now comment.
Type - Yokohama S-Drive
Size - 205/50/15
Price - $200/tyre fitted & balanced
Dry grip - Excellent
Wet grip - Okay. I reckon the C-Drive grips better.
Tyre life - Ive done roughly 11,000km and they are down to the tread indicators. (includes a very spirited Tasmania trip and 1 track day)

Dry grip: how does Standard NB class Phillip Island lap record at my first track day in 2 years sound?
Wet grip: no idea yet.

As far as a road tyre for the track goes, these are awesome. They start to feel a bit greasy when hot, but the grip doesn't actually go away, your slip angles just get a bit bigger. Braking power is amazing. Highly recommended if you have to compete on road tyres.

And Hankook aren't importing 14 inch ones even though they make them....grumble....grumble

Time to bump this back up the top again
Checked my log book yesterday and realised my Toyo T1Rs have now done 42,000km and are still legal - probably 5-10,000km left in them yet They are definitely less grippy on the rear now, strangely like the Pirelli P-Zeros were at the end of their life. But it is fun at traffic lights (when no one's around!). cornering seems unaffected though, just straight line grip - I know that doesn't make sense, but I haven't had any sudden oversteer problems.

Got these fitted about 3-4months ago.
Type - Yoko C-Drive
There's plenty of good info on this tyre so im not going to bother.
Price: $120/corner fitted and balanced.
Great wet/dry tyre. Initial thoughts were that they were a tad heavy (through the steering) but i quickly adjusted. Overall i'm very pleased. The change from 14 year old Dunlops to these was incredible!
After the tyres were put on, i went to get a decent wheel alignment and get the car corner balanced. Funny thing was that the car hadn't had an alignment for at least 7 years (from records and reciepts). The bloke needed a breaker bar for the breaker bar to undo the relevant bolts!
This is what the camber was before i got it set right:
FR: -0.5
FL: -1.6
RR: +0.5
RL: -2.8
This could have something to do with the car ripping around wakefield given that its mainly right handers.

Where: ACDC, Mitchell ACT
Price: $140 (alignment to my specs, plus corner balanced with me in the car)
The difference it has made is unbelievable. For a few hundred bucks my car is now handling how it should be which is sweeeeeeet

was at Beaurepairs and got a quote for a set of re001's (in 205/45r16) of $220ea, the man said they arent very good (despite all the excellent reviews) and are overpriced because theyr made in aus, recommended i get silica tyres like eagle F1's or dunlop direzza (both 250/corner)

RE001 are great, very good in dry.
Not sure in wet - haven't tried.
Goodyear Eagle F1's aren't bad, excellent in wet, and also not bad in dry.
