Where to buy a good quality/non scratch car cover for NB8C?

Hey guys,

Since my SE is only a weekender, it spends Mon-Fri in a warehouse and gets covered in dust from the industrial area around it, so I would like to get a quality car cover for it whilst it's not being used.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy a fitted cover for an NB? Doesn't have to be an EXACT fit, but don't want a sloppy fit either?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Pashn8. Australian Classic Car mag has many ads for products and services which might interest MX5 owners. I get my copies from local library and there is a wealth of ads but not repeated every copy- so you have to dig around a bit. ACC are on www.ccar.com.au. I did notice an ad for Chief car covers www.carcovers.com.au ( Adel)
You will probably get a good price on a volume made cover and the usual accessories shops will have products readily available. If it is indoor it is not a hard spec to achieve you probably only want to keep most of the dust off. I am using a cheap nylon cover and a sheet underneath- its ok but not 100% dust proof. Like everything price will be a decider.

D. If you are only using the cover in the warehouse scratching from the cover moving in a breeze will be greatly reduced, however no matter which cover you get the key to reducing scratches is to ensure the car is clean prior to putting the cover on.

I believe there is (or was) a custom MX-5 cover on Aussie e-bay, from memory they were wanting a load of money. A number of vendors in the US of A make/sell custom covers, check out the big forum. Also John Hewitt is probably a good source of info has he a cover for each of his 7 miatas.

i bought a Kenco car cover from supercheap auto. it was about $100 form memory. they are not fitted, but i just bought the small size and it's a pretty good fit on my NA.

i don't use it much at the moment..., bought it in preparation for when i get a respray.

You buy from one of the accessory big guys you enjoy\" buyers rights\" I purchased an outside car cover was not happy with its waterproofing- returned it and got a full credit and replaced it with another brand. Your local businesses allow you to touch and feel and it supports Aussies. The covers are a terrific idea for cars not dríven everyday. Easy to take on and off and keeps it cleaner for longer- reduces washing frequency. In a warehouse better also that birds find the cover not your paint or upholstery.

mr morlock you seem to have this notion that anything bought on eBay or the internet in general is made in china and sold by some backyard operation in hong kong.

you may be surprised to learn that there are also several aussie companies who have been smart enough to figure out how to use the new fangled internet thingy.

My5 is an infrequent flyer as well, it lives under a couple of soft cotton sheets in the garage. This does a great job of keeping off the dust, and costs sfa.

Even though it's indoors i'd still consider spending a bit more coin and getting a weather proof coverlike this one(or others mentioned by other posters)

It means that if you do need to park your car outside for any reason the cover is still useful or iif something gets spilt on the cover.

If the cover gets dirty a lot you'll probably want something you can hose clean easily. (I think they recommend you only hose clean - no detergents)

I've also noticed that the outdoors covers seem to be thicker and provide a fraction more protection against knocks or if someone uses your covered car as a table.
