Hi Bark,

How old is your MSPNP?

If it is earlier than Feb 2008 then you may need a capacitor in your ingition input to stop noise (especially if you're running hi-res code).

Hi All,

I have tried the step colder plugs with a gap of 27 thou but no improvement. I did email diyautotune last night and they have told me the following:

\"It sounds like you may have an older version that occasionally had a misfire on certain cars but not others. We have corrected that with the newest version. Could you please have a look at the underside of your MSPNP? There's a sticker on it that should say which version it is. Is it marked \"Rev A,\" \"Rev B,\" \"Rev C,\" or none of these? Let me know and I'll tell you where to go from there.\"

So I have gone back to them tonight with my response. Will keep you posted!

It is very noticeable, like a bunny hop!

I haven't reviewed my data log as my cable is with the tuner and he isn't working this week as his wife has given birth to their first child...

See my previous post above as I think this may indicate something??

Unsheilded CAS wiring to the ECU could cause issues dependant on the ECU. I'd wait for the response from the manufacturer.

Is your car an NA6?
Sabretooth had a similar problem with his NA8 and changed to an NA6 CAS which is optical instead of Hall-effect.

There was a thread I found on one of the US forums of a guy who did the same.

So if yours is an NA8, there might be something in swapping to an NA6 CAS.

Well it would appear that my issue is with the MSPNP. Diyautotune have replied this morning with:

\"Looks like it's the older version. We can arrange for you to send it back to us and we'll upgrade it to Revision C at no charge. Or if you'd rather not deal with the downtime, I can walk you through how to solder in the mods from Revision C that cut down on misfires.\"

Once I receive the instructions I will get it done and fingers crossed this will eliminate my miss and I can begin to enjoy the car!

I'm an idiot..... your thread clearly states your car is an NA6 :oops:
I had a hard day and it's too late at night and blah blah blah :P

Matt Cramer's service is second to none.
I sent mine back cause it was playing up big-time but all it was, was that it had a loose wire. I got it back within 10 days after they did alot of testing and datalogging.

Downtime schmowntime, I wonder if any of the Aussie EMS makers would go to the same lenghts.

Tinscfi over in Perth soldered a capacitor on his 94-95 PNP, if you are a bit anxious when it comes to doing it, contact him and he'll help out as much as he can I'm sure.

That's alright mate! :D

Their customer service is great as you mention. I'm just waiting on some detailed instructions - if it's easy I'll do it myself otherwise I'll get a qualified technician to do it. Fingers crossed it is the cause of my frustration!

Ok I have done the mod and tested it. It feels better but I reckon the miss has moved from 3k rpm to about 4k rpm now! I have emailed Matt at DIY again to see where to next... I think I'll just send it back to them.

Tiny bit off-topic, but still on the general subject...

The Bell kits say that they can come with a CARB EO which basically states that its emission-legal in California. It's generally accepted that California has very strict emissions regulations, so would something that passes over there pass the test here?

I'm thinking of getting one of these

http://www.bellengineering.net/index.php?cPath=5_11_49 and was mainly looking at getting the base kit, but the S1 onwards say they can pass CARB emissions, and that would be worth the extra grand

Had the same thoughts a while ago. I would suggest you check out the Cailfornia CARB level requirements and compare them to the IM240 requirements that you would have to satisfy.

I cant quite remember, but I think the california test requirements are not done under load??? Where the IM240 is done under full throttle, warm up etc.

Very frustrating. I gave up on it.

I would want to buy an SE and modify it. Mind you, the NC is growing on me, though I havent dríven either. Just want something that goes like a cut snake around the track and is comforatble for everyday driving?? A pipe dream perhaps??
