- Wheel alignment. HUGE effect on handling. Get a proper one from someone who knows what they're doing..


Its coming, L & D around ashgrove area (QLD)

- Better tyres. Tyres are said to be 75% of the setup of the car, buy the best rubber you can afford, even R spec tyres work magic on the street (R888 anyway).


I completely understand and agree, however I've just bought new rubber and this is what i could afford =(

- Install sway bars, yes put it on the back too, they make a huge difference, but yes 19 is huge, i've got 16mm, also adjustable ones are better.


these are 3 way adjustable on the rear & 2 way adjustable on the front

- FM butterfly brace definitely. Its not too heavy and has a huge effect, give you that solid feeling you want.


definatelly considering. however cost is a factor. definatelly on the wish list though, and may consider in the future

- Get proper adjustable endlinks for the sway bars.


I'm putting in an order to get racing beat very shortly

- Get a roll bar (stiffness and safety and looks)

as above, cant afford it yet

- Other stiffening bars


- Lowering the car loweres the centre of gravity allowing faster cornering.

agreed everyone is saying the same thing.
however i cant. full stop. not that i dont want to lower it. its that i cant get it in the driveway.

- High performance adjustable dampers and stiffer springs

again, dont need to lower the car. the bilsteins seam to be pretty stiff at the moment.
I am looking into getting stiffer springs though. I'll have to get them from King Springs apparently...

- Remove mass from the car

no... its a street car.

etc...

The list is almost endless. But most of important of all, you can get all the parts under the sun but it won't give the effect you want unless you tune it. You need adjustable parts so you can get the balance you want, in particular the sway bars, wheel alignment, dampers and spring rates

Then it is clear that with your current budget and driveway you will not be able to achieve your goals.

like i said just chuck those swaybars in before you decide on blowing your dosh on something, when you might be satisfied the way it is.

25 is too big for a road going NA6 for a front sway, IMHO!

usually a 3 way adjustable 22 or even 24 for front, and 16 or 18 for the rear,

I fell maybe an understeer issue creeping in if any bigger, doubt that you will run the 25mm on hard.

Also if you run the front with out the rear, make understeer your new best friend for medium speed or above cornering.

just my 2c, no offence intended, a 25mm should be ok on soft.

but for $50 for the 2 bars, i wasnt going to pass them up!

and i've just aquired a roll bar...
so im well on the way to my \"goals\" :lol:

get rid of the shitty VLSD diff and get a TorSen...

Other than the normal handling mods the only other thing you can do is work on learning the car... understand how it reacts in certain situations, how to control it and how to get the most out of it without going over its limits.

noone seems to have mentioned playing around with tyre pressures yet
I would put that on the list as well

Definitely! If you're after feel, then tyre pressures and a wheel alignment will give you the best bang for your buck by a country mile. The recommended 26PSI is useless for the tyres I've tried. My wheel alignment and upped tyre pressures transformed the car.
