And no hot-spots at all.

I am happy :)

Thanks for the update MX5boi. I might just go ahead and do it too. Though I still think there is a little bit of hot spots* (around the 6 on the rev counter & 80-100km/h on the speedo) but not enough to worry about. I too will be happy with this.

*Unless the hot spots are more prominent in the photo due to a longer time exposure of the shot.

You are right that you can see slight hot-spots in the photo but they are not noticeable in real life.
They are visible here (as you said) due to long exposure time and me editing the contrast/brightness of image to make it clearer for publishing.

I am very happy

changing dashlighting colour

Postby Jaxom_2 » Tue Jun 17, 2008 2:28 am

mx5boi, do you happen to know what size/type of globe/led would fit in the trip meter?
Also, i assume that the dashlight dimmer now does not work with the leds installed?

I know you asked MX5boi but the trip meter bulb is a T5 globe. My dials were originally green (NB8A) and I painted all my dial bulbs red including the trip meter.

BTW. for anyone intersted, there is a link on another how do:

Meh....why bother (with blue, go red or orange)

I had a VW golf with the blue lights and it did look nice for a little while (only because it was different), the novelty wore off fairly quick. They suck on extended night drives. You people do realise, blue lights cause the most glare and can be Hazardous to your eyes.

I prefer the stock NB8B lights. Highly visible and very easy on the eyes.

There is always the 'dimmer'. I always dim the dash lights on extended night drives. Whether the lights are blue or orange will not change that.

P.S. Mine 'were' orange and it is (was) oh so boring....

Kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Whatever floats your boat.
