Great work Mate, Love all the pics, they speak a 1000 words each.

Like Boags said, very inspiring, Definately helped me to refocus on whats my greatest passion, and go for it.

I was a bit slow  seeing this thread, but look forward to the rest of your progress.
Good Luck!!!

It's a 330 P4 replica. Oh and it's porn too. Here's the real deal.

FWIW, I was advised that the kit was actually a 330 P3 replica and still very porn 8) .

OK here's the progress in March '08......

I firstly tidied up the PPF join detail...later on I'll add a couple of little plates to clean up the force transfer between the two slightly different section profiles.

I felt like I needed a quick win...ie. look like I was achieving something :| so I fitted the headlights and front bar. :P

I also bolted a lot of the standard NC engine bay components to see how the 13B interacted with them. With minor mods an RX-8 suspension tower brace fitted in.

Image

My goal is to have the car ready to race at the beginning of next year, however work was getting in the way of making the much needed progress on the supercharger front. :( :( :( So after stumbling across a new Blitz non-intercooled supercharger kit I decided to put the R & D of an intercooled Eaton M90 supercharger on the back burner and purchased the Blitz kit.

Image

The installed kit looks like this....not pretty, however it will save me lots of time (that I don't have) and still get the fatter torque curve I'm chasing. IIRC the Blitz kit boosts at around 6 psi which adds quite an acceptable amount of area under the power/rpm curve. :D

Image

Which is about half of the boost pressure I expect that the Eaton M90 can deliver. Thus it needs intercooling.

I purchased a pair of Sparco Sprint V's way back in July 2007 and they were taking too much space at home so I got stuck into designing adaptors to allow the Sparco's to utilise the standard NC rails. As per normal I designed them up in Solidworks. :D

Image

Here are the finished items fitted between the seat and rails. If you are wondering why they have MX-5 Plus profiled in them, I approached the owner about having them as a product, having done other product development work for him previously. These are the only adaptors in existance at the moment.

....and the seats installed in the car.

The seats just clear the innards of the NC hardtop.

I really wanted to see how the car now sat with most of the powertrain installed in the car and the Tein Flex's fitted....and a hint of negative camber.

....and that was March, 2008.

looks good. cant wait for it to be finished. are you planning on changing the pulley wheel on the supercharger for more boost or leaving it at 6psi?

Mike, I will be leaving the Blitz pulley size as is for two reasons...(1) There is no opportunity for intercooling without heavily modifying the kit; (2) The pulley is of the electric clutch type (similar to Toyota 4AGZE & 1GGZE design). At least I will have some time to get the rest of the car sorted before I reach the finish line with regards to engine output. :D

Cheers,
Danny
