After a wait of almost 8 weeks I got my NC back yesterday following an engine transplant resulting from a big end bearing failure.
My sources tell me this is very rare, if not the first instance of it in this model. Fingers crossed I will not have any further issues and this failure was just a freak occurence.
Thanks to Mazda and Woodley's Motors (Tamworth) for looking after me.

How many km when that happened
Just clocked 40,000km. Was quite a surprise. Was running great and then all of a sudden there was a nasty knocking sound.
