Hmmm shouldn't... I'm still wondering how someone can get away with this if the police are informed. Yes, maybe you did make an error of judgement, but that is seperate. Is it that they would require you to proceed with the complaint and want the guy charged and you're not prepared to? Or that they are just shrugging their shoulders?

Also, I'm surprised how many others on here have had similar experiences. Scary stuff.

my dad just informed me that on the insurnce policy i am down as a part time driver, so if we were to get it done on insurence the excess would be nearly 2k, so it's not worth it. i doubt the cost all up will exceed 800

But regardless of insurance surely it's a fairly serious criminal offence?

Yes, any magistrate in the world would make him pay for the damage.

Have a talk to James at the mx5centre, he has just opened up. May be able to sort you out with the parts you need.

I really sorry to here about what happened. No matter what you did that is completely unaccepable behaviour. Pitty you didn't get the rego as that pr**k should go the jail for doing somthing like that.

I was just about to recomend James too, he should have all the parts your after and is good to deal with. I'm pretty sure he has a lot of parts that are already the same color as your car, so if your not fussed about perfect color match and willing to do some work yourself you could save some money. But still get a quote from the mx5 factory and probebly one other panel beater. I'll PM you with James' email adress.

That's pretty shocking!

I'd suggest you read your insurance PDS and if it doesn't seem to exclude that damage then threaten to involve the industry ombudsman. I've known that to work with banks.

Don't be satisfied with your response from the insurance company. Every claim I have made I have had a fight. You have to push them alot harder. I have always won in the end but have had to be persistant.
Cheers

Take the pr@#k to the cleaners. If he had damaged his car when he went off the road I am sure he would have claimed repair costs off you. He needs to be taught a lesson or he will do it to someone else.

Bit a of worry taking psychos like that to court though as they get your details and can make a bad situation worse...

Good luck with it :(
