gearbox and differential oil

Steve, did you end up sorting this out?
I'm thinking Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the box, and something similar for the diff. I'll most likely be getting my stocks of Oilworld in Moorabbin, did you need some?

Redline recommend MTL or MT90 for our cars. I've just swapped back from Castrol Syntrans to Redline MTL. The difference is enormous. The action feels much more positive, synchro works perfectly again, there's no more baulking into 3rd and I've stopped thinking about buying a new gearbox. 
BTW I've done gear oil changes with a pump from below and with a hose from above. Hose method wins hands down. 2 quarts is enough for a 5 speed if you use the hose method because you get it all in.

Anyone know the difference beween the MTL and the Lightweight Shockproof gear oil?
I've always used Lightweight Shockproof in my other hypo cars including my Evo and it has been fantastic.

As far as I can tell the MT-90 and MTL are made specifically for manual transmissions while Shockproof is more a general purpose gear oil. I've tried both MTL and Shockproof in my car, as well as the Castrol. The shift action and synchro have been much better with MTL. I think the Shockproof and Castrol were too slippery for the synchros.
Years ago I poured a friction modifier into a BMC mini engine, which has the gearbox in the engine sump. The idle revs went up straight away by about 150rpm but the gearbox became really hard to use because the synchros wouldn't work at all.

Most comments here seem to mainly look at gearbox oil but can anyone offer advice as to what would be better in a 2002 Torsen Diff??
I was looking to buy a quart of Redline Oil namely
'Redline Heavy Shockproof Gear Oil' or would the 'MT-90' be better suited?
or would any of the other Redline Shockproof range be ok?
Any other brand products on par with Redline synthetic?
