Tried... and failed. Although there was a heap of carbon buildup, which is now cleaned, windows are as slow as ever. Next step, getting into the window with some silicon.

I just ordered a couple Momentary (on)off(on) toggle switches to replace my power window switch. Ill be wiring them up in a week or two, so ill post up how they go.... very easy to wire them up, and they will go with the retro look im after. :D

Going to be similar to the Nielex setup but not mounted like that..

My windows are fixed too. All I had to do was buy an NB. :mrgreen:

Smoother, more comfortable, faster (through the twisties), but a little down on power. Nothing wrong with refinement... :mrgreen:

Yes, i won't comment on the next run, but it isn't a track day. Track day is on the 10th. I'll be able to compare the times (seeing as they'll be on the same rubber).

Although I will be taking cheese to the track with me... Along with vegemite ina sandwich. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

So is the blackening of the contacts due to the current it is carrying or something else?

If it was getting blackened due to current carrying, I would have thought that heat would have been an issue and we would have seen the surrounding plastic melt.

Is it actual carbon, or is it something else.....e.g. H2S (from the exhaust gas), attacking the metal causing the discolouration and a high resistance joint?
