Windscreen & Wipers - NA & NB

Postby Hammer » Mon May 26, 2008 12:55 am

I would like to know if the windscreen between the NA & NB are different? If they are not, does it mean that the wipers will most likely be the same length?

Reason I would like to know is that I'd like to fit the Bosch AeroTwin wipers on my NB8B. But on the packaging of their shortest AeroTwin Wipers (450mm), it only list the NA as the MX5 it will fit on (89-97). No MX5s are listed on their longer sizes.

I would just like to confirm if this is an error in Bosch's part or that the wipers on the NA are indeed longer than the NB.

Has anyone fitted these on their NB(8B)?

I've had the Bosch aero wipers for over 6 months now Hammer and they are excellent. They are a lot quieter than the originals. AFAIK they are the same size as the NA wipers.

I think I use size 18 on my NB8B.

I chage them about three or four times a year.

NA and NB have the same screen.

Trico's in-store machine has the wrong listing for NBs - they are 450mm, not 400...

Ohhh size 18 must stand for 18 inches = 45 cm.

(I drive NB8B)

The sun makes the rubber go all dry hard I guess.

I have fitted NB windscreen wipers to my NA6 and they are almost identical. The only difference is the small metal wind deflector on the passenger side wiper on the NA6. Wiper blade length is exactly the same.

Thanks everyone. I'll pick a set from Supercheap, over the weekend.

I find the OEM NB wipers tends to lift a little from 120km/h (don't ask :)). These looks more aerodynamic and lower profile to the windscreen.

Stu, these might be the blade for you. It's blade and wiper holder in one. It replaces the metal blade holder of the OEM item, thus should be lighter.
