Folding a soft top tonneau cover?

For the life of me, I cannot get the soft top tonneau cover to fold neatly. It ends up being dumped, lifeless, in the boot.

Any tips?

And because I'm like that, here's it repeated for everyone:

1. Lay the boot out flat with the shiny side up.

2. Fold the bottom one third up.
There is a natural break in the plastic guides that makes folding easy.

3. Using the breaks in the plastic guides, fold the outer sections in towards the centre.

4. Last of all. Fold the package in half again using the breaks in the plastic as your folding points.

You beauty! I was just about to ask someone if these could be folded neatly. All i need to do know is make a little bag for it to go in.

i didnt even think of folding it - its just in my boot, bit of a mess - but i hardly ever use the boot so it isnt really a problem.. gna try this folding thing tomorrow though

I bought a little custom made vinyl bag off eBay from a guy in New Zealand, only $20 or so.

Green (or red) shopping bag from Bunnings is the right size.

I think mine cost me 55c a couple of years ago. (May have gone up to $1.) Does the job just as well as anything costing more, so long as you don't mind the Bunnings logo. (I don't mind and neither does my tonneau.)

I have never had a problem with folding the soft top cover, because I've never used it!
I've had 3 MX-5's, and have never bothered with even taking it out of the bag it came in.

I never use ours either, but it would have been handy to know I was meant to have it for concourse at Natmeet :roll:

I keep mine attached on the front pop studs. It just goes back into the vacant well when the top is up then only takes half a minute to attach on the back rim when you put the top down. It make the car look smooth and finished.

I drop mine on the move

yes yes i can drop my soft top while I'm on the move and put it back up on the move too

without taking my eyes off the road

... and tieing your shoe laces? how fast do you drive when you put it up on the move? :shock:
