Hope all the heaters work! :frown: The weather is to be wet and a max of 16 in Sydney. :( Could be low single figures at the finish.

As long as the sun is shining, I won't mind how cold it gets
I'm still on track for being there too.

A big thanks to Ken and Maggie for organising today's run. It was very informative, and obviously a lot of work had gone into the run preparation. You also did a good job keeping such a big group on the straight and narrow and pretty much on schedule for the whole day. Even the weather was perfect for a crisp pre-winter cruise up through the mountains. 8) The only blot on my day was the slow moving Vectra holding us up through the hill climb section.

Here, here. I second that.

Thanks again Kenny & Maggie for the drive down automotive memory lane.

After seeing those old tracks, the guys that raced on them in those early F1 cars with their drum brakes, cross-ply (motorbike width) tyres, definately had guts and cohones. :D

So what was the official count of cars that went today? There were more than a few.

Kenny's Race Track Run

Postby Hurricane » Mon May 19, 2008 10:27 am

:D :D :D What can I say a tremendous job done by Ken & Maggie. A great turn up of 28 cars and the weather was perfect. The day went really well. Walking around Catalina was certainly the highlight. You can understand why there were so many accidents but it would be great if they reinvented the track just for our little MX5s. On behalf of everyone who attended thanks again and it makes our job as Captains a little bit easier when other members map out a run with such enthusiasm. Congratulations!!

Great Day :D :D

Thankyou to the organisers for the work they did in seting out the route and the information. Very good job. :) :)

A big turn out for what was to be a bad weather day but didn't.

No navigator!! I missed 2 turns   but got back on track quickly.

The hill climb would have been god to see with an NA, NB and NC climbing in formation.

The happy people

I saw it. Had you in front, the NC behind, and I always see the NB when I'm driving 8)

Well organised run, although I was fairly tired by the end of it. Well worth it though. If only I hadn't left the directions at my mates' place so I can actually look at the pictures at the end.

I'm definitely a fan of the way the directions were laid out. Definitely made it easier to figure out what was happening next in the list of turns. My only qualm is that the odometer should've been reset more often, just to resynchronize the distances. Perhaps do a reset at every stop point?
