1red5 your're right - short but sweet - if you go at the right time as it is a very popular tourist track. I quite often go to Mt Tamborine via Mt Lindsay Highway then go to Eagle Heights (and stop at the Eagle Heights watering hole!) and then continue on down to the Pacific Highway. This makes the fun last a little longer! :) :)

That's the way I go too, turn off Mt Lindesay hwy at Camp Cable rd which ends at Tamborine mountain rd.
Surface is fairly rough though and always leaf litter.

I wasn't driving on this road but I think I've been on it. My friend lives on the mountain, imagine getting to drive down that road every day. They leave all the cars that have crashed off in the woods to warn other drivers to take it easy. Thats a great idea.

I didn't know that. Might have to go bushwalking one day and check it out.
Good to see you come up here now and again.

I live 10 mins from this road.

Even on Sunday mornings at a very early hour it is well patrolled and justifiably due to the # of accidents that happen there.

It is a -fantastic- road even with its bumps. Shame about the 60K limit...

Here's a link to the "Gold Coast Chapter April 2010 Run (Mt. Tamborine)" that has a Google Earth view of the run on that day showing just how windy it is and speeds travelled:

I the risk of being shot - I personally think Mt Tambo is over-rated. Low speed limits, shitty surfaces, weekend traffic. Gimme West Brissy or Sunny Coast Hinterland roads any day.
