Thinking a bit harder......I think you are right Casey. I changed my steering wheel a while back and had to swap the cruise buttons over and now I vaugely remember having to drill an extra hole for the wires for the cruise buttons. Old age is bad for the memory. My apologies for leading everyone astray.

They mounted my actuator over near the diagnostics box for some reason, and ran a long cable over to the throttle following the brake lines along the firewall. They mounted the vacuum canistor on the shock tower brace bracket on the drivers side. It was originally mounted in the free space near the ABS unit but they moved it when I complained about it running out of vacuum. But it didn't help. All the electricals are mounted near the fuse box under the dash.

I wonder how they thought that would help? First they tell you the controls are battery powered, then they think moving the actuator would fix a vacuum problem???
FWIW mine is also mounted in about the same position. I think its so far away from the throttle belcrank as they are not supposed to shorten the cable.
Make sure you don't cable tie the actuator cable tightly to the bodywork - it needs to be able to allow for the engine movement. Otherwise, when the engine torques over on its engine mounts, the cable outer may get pulled out of the actuator and then catch on the actuator body when the engine returns to its normal position. Ask me how I know...

One and half redlined smokey orbits in third gear before I could reach down and turn the engine off. Luckily this happened on a motorkhana course and not the road. And no I don't use cruise during a motorkhana, so the cruise wasn't even turned on, let alone engaged.
