I started my NA6 a few weeks and had the same noise except it sounded a lot worse than your video.

I assumed it was a lifter dying so I shut it off, checked the oil, the dipstick was dry, filled it up and the noise was gone after about 10 mintues. I was using Penrite Sin 0W60 which in hindsight is probably a bit thin for a nearing on 20 year old motor and perhaps it was burning slowly. I hadn't checked the oil since I changed it and had done 9000km on it. I've since changed the oil to Penrite Sin 15W40 and it seems ok now touch wood.

I woudln't be rupping the engine out, sounds like a basic valve train problem to me?

well an oil change had been done with new magnatec 10w40 & theres still some tapping after 20 minutes of driving plus it noticabley lost power at some points towards the end. drained the new oil the next day & it is visibly all black!

lets not try to keep an old engine going. it'll either get another engine for sale at a higher price or be sold as is, if only Duj would hurry up & make up his mind about whether he wants to buy the car.

things aren't happening as quickly as i'd like them to :( the car i always wanted might be sold by the time this is all done..
