Figures are finally in 120 kw atw on 7 psi. Bit disappointing.

Tuners recommend I don't run

over 7 psi on stock internals, does this seem right ?

Would be interested in the relationship between boost increase and power

gained.

120kw at 7psi sounds pretty good to me!
many people seem to run up to 12psi very safely, they are farely robust engines. limitting it to 7psi sounds ultra conservative to me.

Ummm, I believe it's more like "boost increase = power gain. "

it sounds like the tuner did not want to put the hard work in or is not farmiliar with the motor. there are plenty of guys running 15psi on the standard nb8b 10:1 comp motors and producing upwards of 260whp in the states. When running a reasonable amount of boost (probably up to about 15psi) the safety of the motor is all in the tune. The stock engine is pretty strong. What is your fuel system like? Maybe if you got a rising rate regular they might be a bit more comfortable with more boost. But I would say that you should be able to go up to 10psi with no troubles.

So with close to double stock hp how does it go?

Fuel system Walbro, 500cc injectors, 147.6kw atw, it goes like a shower of sh*T :)

Had car de-boosted today to 132kw atw till I can get myself a stronger diff and a boost controller fitted.

Don't worry about your diff; it's good for over 200KW if treated right.

How did they up the boost before?

Yep, that sounds right. What do you mean by boost controller? A switch so you can have a "low boost" and "high boost" setting? 8)

Just an update. I, have fixed the exhaust rattle, small oil leak around oil

return line fixed also. Fitted a cooling pro 52mm radiator last night.

Window tinting and better exhaust system next.
