I am looking into swapping my NA 1.6 for a used NA8 1.8 engine, and I need to know what else requires upgrading, eg ECU, wiring, engine mounts etc.
I tried a searching this forum and the miata.net garare but didn't find much.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Cheers
Dave

Have not done it myself but Flyin Miata sell the bits to do it, the Keith Tanner book explains what to do.

FM have the kit for swapping bits from the 1.6 to the 1.8, using the 1.6 ECU is a dodgy work around that can produce suspect results, spend your cash elsewhere by buying a plug in ECU like the new wolf. That way you can have more power.
You could also go the mega squirt plug n play but you'll find a lot less tuners who have any experience with the tuning software.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I am looking for a bit more power, to that end, I was considering
supercharging (I was too slow for Saberteurs kit),
modifying the 1.6 (or buying a modified 1.6),
or swapping to the 1.8.
I'm not set on any particular option as yet.
