steve, i wasn't trying to say you critisised n-power, i was just trying to point out that you can't really fault them for the exhaust rubbing on your inexistant tow bar.

rubbing on the tow hook on the other hand...... well yeah that isn't too great is it.

again.....

Thanks for this thread, i've been contemplating one of these for a while. So it doesn't make the car sound 'fully sik' , rather sporting and more fitting with the car?

I would love to make the car sound like an old british sports car, but I would assume that would be inpossible with a fuel injected 16v Japanese engine..

get my exhaust =]. I reckon it sounds like a MGB =]

it is a custom exhaust made by town & country exhaust. Essentially a mild steel 2.25 inch exhaust with a, erm, 15 inch resonator (i think) and a xforce S/S muffler.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

The stock NA muffler is integral with the pipe up to the cat, right? So to upgrade to this muffler from a stock setup would also require a new aftermarket midpipe, wouldn't it?

Any suggestions on where I'd get a midpipe to match the N-Power muffler?

Thanks everyone... sounds like the dealings with Npower are good along with the product..

It's always hard to buy things like this, and its nice to have some shared feedback from other buyers who've already taken the plunge.. :D

My dad just installed a full 2.5\" stainless steel flyin miata system and man does that sound phat.. i liked my exhaust but this sounds so sporty/throaty/deep!! everything lol i want it!!

Does anyone happen to know if these N Power ones are the same thing as these - http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info. ... ts_id/1115

The MX5parts one certainly gets some good reviews, and if they're the same item as the N Power branded ones, the N Power ones are certainly good value!

I'll get around to creating some sound bites shortly.

I believe the muffler was fitted when the DECA video's were shot. The video's were taken from a phone so the sound quality isn't the best.

I already have some self priming high temp paint. Would a good sanding to roughen up the surface be good enough? I imagine it would be fairly difficult.

An etch primer might be the way to go. Note I said might, not 100% sure if it definately will do what you need.

Seems odd to me to paint a stainless exhaust. Why not just save some money and buy a standard ( as fitted to nearly everything) sports muffler. Painting it will never be perfect - trying to get an etch to a shiny surface and when it peels off it will not look good- but then I do not like the fashion of black cars so .....each to our own.
