NA8 antenna

Postby lil red rocket » Wed May 07, 2008 9:33 pm

:( Team
I have a 95 NA8 with a crook radio antenna - doesn't go up or down. I tried to remove it for replacement or repair. After removing all visible screws, nuts and electrical connections it was still held to the bodywork. I'm generally fairly cluey but this has me stumped. Anybody removed one? Any advice? Please Heelllpppppp!

Does it still make noises when power is applied or turned off..?

If it does then you will need to get a re ribbon kit from mazda.

Or get a whole new kit....NOO7 66 930A assuming that 95 and 94 are the same.

Have you undone where the shaft goes through the bodywork?

Looking down from above Chrome disc with 2 small slots in it

Undo it with a pair of pointy pliers....points go in the slot

Unplug wires, undo the 2 mounting screws ,unplug plastic tube on the base of the unit where it goes to the body work and the whole lot should come out

If it doesn't make sense send me a pm with a phone number and i'll talk you through it

Brian, when you remove it, just leave it off as it's only extra weight which will slow your car down at the track :P

But more to the point, as Tez said, if it still makes noises, ie the motor still runs, then it may be just a broken snakey-thingy [technical term].
I found that on mine.

Follow Tez's instructions and you'll be right.
